Sue & Tim | Richmond Wedding

After our pre-shoot featuring Sue & Tim’s chicken family – I knew their wedding would be on a whole new level. They had planned a day that reflected them, the importance of their close friends and families and incorporated the things they loved. Sue & Tim both have such a wicked sense of humour and it was featured throughout the day with the little details, a chicken coup table plan and the best cake toppers I’ve ever seen for example. Getting ready began at Sue & Tims home, Sue had not one but two pairs of incredible shoes and two dresses both non-traditional but both so very Sue. The gorgeous blue lace number is by Erdem, the coat was a charity shop find which Sue customised and the shoes Louboutin. She changed in to her choos for the evening reception. I’ve never seen a Smart car used as the bridal car but it was perfect and it was hilarious to see Tim drive it off after the ceremony!

The ceremony took place at Richmond Registry Office with just 30 or so guests before everyone made their way to one of the most beautiful little oasis’s in the area Petersham Nurseries (or as Sue put it she had her wedding breakfast at a garden centre) – we were lucky enough to have plenty of time to do the formal and couple shots plus Tim & Sue’s Yoga-Off – who could do the best Standing Bow in their wedding outfits in the middle of a greenhouse with umbrella props – I think it’s too close to call before we headed back to Sue & Tim’s to check on the chickens and create a very different ring shot! A few hours break for a cup of tea, outfit change and a little rest before the evening reception kicked off at One Kew Road in Richmond. A really funky, cool venue and just perfect for the additional evening guests that joined in the party. A brilliantly, funny, wonderful day, Sue & Tim thank you so much for having me along!

Fiona & Marcus | London Pre-Wedding Shoot

A few weeks back I got to spend Saturday afternoon with Fiona & Marcus – their wedding venue is stunning but also quite traditional so for their pre-wedding portraits they wanted a more urban side of London featuring places they knew well. We had a great day and it was lovely for me to explore a new nook of London…

Nancy & Henry | Not Just AnOther Wedding

Some weddings you don’t know til it’s happening how special it is, some like Nancy & Henrys, I knew the moment I met them it was going to be a day hard to forget. I asked them at our meeting how did Henry propose, it’s not a question I always ask but the story gave me goosebumps just at how sweet and romantic it was (it involved picnics, the hottest day of the year last October, and outdoor swimming). I just knew I had to capture this day so I’m incredibly grateful that my wish came true!

Nancy is the editor of AnOther magazine, the oh so stylish fashion bible and Henry a teacher (wouldn’t you have loved Henry to be your teacher?!) and the day they had planned was to simply share their love with their friends and family. I can’t tell you how much love and goodwill I felt on the day for these two, it was incredible. The setting was Nancy’s family village in Suffolk, in a field of a friend where Papakata pitched up their tipi for the reception. At the bottom of the field an oak tree was the setting for the ceremony. Guests were invited to tie ribbons to the branches, invoking Tibetan customs of good wishes and prayers for the couple. They must have worked as the rain clouds held off and during the ceremony when the ribbons where mentioned the sun actually broke through the clouds – it was a beautiful moment, truly.

Nancy wore Alexander McQueen and arrived by tractor decorated in daffodils, with her three bridesmaids and father before walking down the grass aisle to Henry. Friends played piano and sang during the ceremony before Nancy & Henry exchanged rings. Everyone joined in for a fabulous rendition of All You Need is Love before the couple were showered in confetti and everyone made their way back to the tipi for afternoon tea. The formals were done before our couple shoot (I love those images!) and then it was time for speeches. Nancy’s brother with the best moustache ever was the toastmaster whilst Nancy’s father, Best man Nick and Henry said a few words. And then it was all over… for me anyway. I left the couple to enjoy their feast and dance the night away. Much love to you Nancy & Henry xx

Anne & Bambo | Ghyll Manor Sussex

Anne is one of my most favourite people on the planet. She’s inspiring, motivated, talented, creative and hilarious. She sets goals and she does everything she can to achieve them, for example she decided she was going to make her wedding dress… and then she got a sewing machine! In fact she made two wedding dresses and the bridesmaids dress. The first wedding dress was worn at Anne & Bambos overseas ceremony where they officially tied the knot. Their day at Ghyll Manor was to celebrate their wedding with friends and family who didn’t make it to the official ceremony. I think the 24th March was quite possibly the hottest day of the year so far – just glorious!

As well as being the photographer for the day, I was also an officially invited guest with an invitation and a place setting for dinner and everything Champagne Sorbet, anyone? Such a treat! It was such an honour to be asked to photograph a friends special day and equally special to be a guest. Anne & B thank you, here are my favourites from your day…
